The trail of tears

Friends and Family,

We have internet problems here and can not call much, nor write much, but will try to do so whenever we can.

As our journey with Miss Maya continues, we have come to realize that she has SEVERE emotional and phsycological issues dealing with bonding and attachment - issues that were either previously unknown, or not disclosed to us. Maya cries unless she is sleeping, or eating, or in the car......and sometimes does not cry much when we are in public. On occasion, Staci can get her to stop crying for a few moments, but if she moves or breaths wrong, the crying starts up again. There is NOTHING that will console her. You can hear her cries from the far reaches of the hotel, and even out onto the courtyard pathway 3 floors below our room. I don't know what will come of all this, but Maya certainly has special needs and she needs some serious help.

We welcome your prayers, as they are much needed in this situation. We are supposed to go to the U.S. embassy today. They will take all of our paperwork and then conduct investigations into the adoption. Some of these processes go smoothly and some do not. Until tomorrow, may there be less tears and fears, and more stability. Only time will tell.
